Project Afternight Accuracy and Full Combos

Accuracy is the only currency Project: Afternight respects. Coins do not exist. This page is how you stop hovering at 68% on shop farms and how you start collecting the 50 unique Full Combos that unlock custom icons. Pair it with How to Play for judgements and settings for the HUD that shows them.

Know the numbers you actually need

• Shop floor: usually 70% at 1x or faster, modcharts on, special notes on. How rewards work.
• Full Combo: no misses (combo never breaks). PFC / MFC labels on the HUD mean tighter windows — Marvelous/Sick-only depending on your rating pack.
• Badge gimmicks: 70% (or 75% in some locale strings) with stacked modifiers. Modifiers.
• Custom icons: 50 unique songs FCed, not 50 retries of Tutorial.

If a script is on, look at the score. Some autoplay loops never write PFC. You cannot FC in secret.

Practice that is not a new tab

1. One song. Loop Easy until 90%, then Normal, then Hard. Tab hopping is entertainment, not practice.
2. Note speed first. If jumps blur, slow the arrows. Song rate stays at 1x so the shop still counts.
3. Hitsounds on. Quiet. You are training a timing sense, not a mute wallpaper.
4. Camera and splashes off until the FC is real. Settings.
5. Downscroll/upscroll matching your PC FNF profile so your wrist does not relearn north.

When a pattern always breaks, isolate it: pause, rewind in your head, play just that measure. PAFN is not osu! with a practice window on every build, so repetition is the tool.

Reading the HUD mid-song

Keep accuracy, combo, and combo breaks visible. A 99% with two breaks is not an FC. A 71% with a messy middle is still a shop pass. Decide before the countdown whether this attempt is a farm (70% toast) or a FC hunt (no misses). Mixing the goals is how you panic-mash after one Bad.

Health-bar icons can distract. If the losing icon makes you flinch, swap to a calmer pack or hide flair until you can afford it. Icons are not timing.

Pick charts that teach, not charts that clip well

Use the song tier list and mods tier list. Original FNF Week 1–3, straightforward funk charts, and mid-BPM OSTs build consistency. Mario’s Madness Demise, 17 Bucks spikes, and 9-key Shaggy files are not FC homework on day two.

Mania keys need a bind map before an FC attempt. Keybinds. Missing a 16-key because you never bound the extra receptors is not an accuracy problem.

Versus is a bad classroom

Other people pick surprise files, talk, and leave. Learn in solo or with an official bot. Take the FC into versus later if you want the nameplate. Leaving a stage is allowed; wiping a 200 combo because someone queued a joke chart is optional pain.

Counting unique FCs

The 50 unique FCs for icon uploads care about different songs, not difficulty spam on one file (confirm in-shop if a patch changes this). Keep a notepad. When the unlock pops, follow custom icons for the Psych-style strip.

Tags that want a FC on a specific difficulty are listed per row in the shop and summarized on tags. Do those after the 70% shop farm, not before you can hold combo on Normal.

When the engine feels late

FPS first: extras off, Bloxstrap FPS cap up if you use it, close the island density. Then note speed. Then your offset habits from other rhythm games — PAFN may not expose a global millisecond offset on every build, so visual speed is the practical tool. After a big patch (Classic Resurrections UI, Eye of Corruption), test on a song you already FCed. If that file is suddenly late, it is the client, not your hands. Check updates.

Accuracy is a habit. The shop is the homework. Custom icons are the diploma. Scripts are a skip button that sometimes skips the diploma too.
