Project Afternight Tags
Nameplates you earn on a signature chart — not a point shop, not a code.
Tags in Project: Afternight are nameplate labels. Other RoFNF clients sell customizable tags for mountains of points. PAFN hands you a themed word when you play well on a specific song, usually the hardest or most iconic file in a tab. That is why this page sits next to custom icons and the mods hub instead of next to a fake currency table.
How a tag unlocks
Read the shop row. Typical pattern:
- Named song, often Hard or the tab’s climax.
- Accuracy floor in the same family as other cosmetics (think 70% / 1x / modcharts on) or a Full Combo.
- Sometimes a unique difficulty. Easy will not always substitute.
Examples documented by the community:
- Club Member — Doki Doki tab, literature-club joke.
- Escapist — Piggy tab, chapter-escape joke.
- Prime — ULTRAKILL tab, suffix energy.
- Strategist — Blox Cards OST FC, collab extra.
Those names can shift when a tab is reworked. The shop tooltip always wins. Shop unlocks shows how to search. How rewards work is the numeric checklist if the row does not invent a new one.
Tags versus badges versus icons
Tags are in-game name cosmetics. Roblox badges (Welcome, Where’d They Go?, Randomizer) are platform trophies with their own modifier stacks — modifiers. Icons are health-bar faces. You can wear all three at once. None of them are promo codes. Fake codes.
Hunting without tilting
If a tag wants the hardest song of a tab, treat it like a project:
- Clear Easy/Normal in that tab so you own the animation and the noteskin first.
- Learn the climax file using accuracy and FC and a readable note speed.
- Bind extra keys if the climax is mania. Keybinds.
- Attempt the tag on a fresh session, not at the end of a 4v4. Versus is a bad classroom.
If the tag is a FC on a mid song, it is a collectible, not a wall. Do it while you farm unique FCs for custom icons so the grinds overlap.
Display and etiquette
Equip one tag that you actually earned. A Prime suffix on a player who then misses every ULTRAKILL jump is comedy, which is allowed, but you will hear about it. Event animations plus a loud tag plus camera shake is how your own notes disappear. Settings.
Some tags are event-limited. If a row is red or missing, it was removed or not in this build. Funkipedia marks unobtainable shop items in red; trust the live shop more.
After a content drop
New tabs mean new tags. Eye of Corruption, Classic Resurrections, and Madness Hits all added nameplate flavour. Skim updates and then search the shop for “tag” or the tab name. Discord will spoil the cool ones faster than this wiki can table them, which is fine — we would rather explain the rule than ship a 200-row list that rots.
A practical overlap with other grinds: while you farm the 50 unique FCs for custom icons, aim a few of those FCs at tag songs. You get the nameplate and the icon counter on the same result screen. That is more efficient than a dedicated “tag night” where you rage-quit the climax file.
If a tag wants a difficulty you cannot read yet, leave it. Cosmetics do not expire when a new prefix hits the Roblox title. Eye of Corruption did not delete Club Member. Play the readable farm on song tiers, then come back when your 4K is honest.
Nameplates are public. If you equip a tag from a horror tab, people will queue you into that tab. That can be the point. If it is not, equip something quieter before you sit on a speaker in a full server.
If you came here from a Google result that said “tag codes,” you want this page’s first sentence: you play the song. Then go play it.
