Project Afternight Classic Resurrections Update

Classic Resurrections (also called update 1.5, May 2025 coverage) is the quality-of-life earthquake a lot of returning players still have not read. Eye of Corruption sits on top of this UI. UI that still matters

Song select, settings, and shop were redesigned. Search in the shop became the way to live. If you are still scrolling with a wheel like it is 2024, you are doing it the painful way. Shop unlocks.

Note recoloring landed under shop / set note color. It hue-shifts. Monochrome noteskins will not recolor. It was called incomplete and possibly buggy at launch of 1.5; if a skin ignores the slider, that is why.

Settings categories shuffled. Chaotix’s older settings film still maps conceptually (strumlines, speed, accessibility, bots) but chapter timestamps can point at missing Ratings sliders that were already removed. Use settings as the current short list.

Versus: leave the stage

You can leave a versus stage if you dislike the pick. The opponent continues as if you never sat down. This is the button that makes versus modes tolerable. Use it on surprise mania files.

Island NPCs

Talkable NPCs appeared on the island. They are flavour and signposting, not a second campaign. If a new player is lost, they still need a speaker more than a dialogue tree. Getting Started.

Stats caveat

Song stats (plays, accuracy history) for files you ran before the update may be empty. Anything after 1.5 should record. Do not panic if an old FC is missing from a counter; the unique-FC gate for custom icons is the one to watch, and you should keep your own list anyway.

Animation toggles

Rigs with fingers/props can disable those extras via props / required props toggles. A dedicated fingers-only toggle was promised later. If a model is unreadable over notes, this is the first slider to try before you unequip the whole pack.

Animation-specific highlights were fixed and re-enabled in this pass. If a pack looked flat after an earlier bug, try it again.

Content focus

The update’s named goal was older mods coming back plus visual refresh on existing tabs — a resurrection, hence the title. It is not the same thing as Eye of Corruption’s new horror-crossover skin. If a tab you loved in 2024 “came back,” this is probably when. Shop dumps from that month are long; search instead of watching every frame.

What 1.5 did not add

A code box. A Robux pass. A points shop. Those absences are still the point of PAFN. Codes hub.

The shop dump that followed 1.5 is its own hour-plus video (new anims, updated anims, emotes, noteskins, splashes, icon packs, tags). We did not embed it here because this page already has the update tour. If you are hunting a specific resurrection cosmetic, search in-game rather than scrubbing a timeline. Older mods returning also means old muscle memory returning. A tab you FCed in 2024 might have a visual refresh and the same chart, or a rechart that invalidates your FC pride. Play it once on Easy before you claim the tag still pops. Tags.

If you skipped from public launch (March 2024) straight to Eye of Corruption, read this page once, then settings, then play. The trailer for 1.5 is older than the corruption drop, but the buttons it added are the buttons you will press tonight.
