Project Afternight Settings

Project: Afternight ships more toggles than most Roblox FNF clients. That is a feature. It is also how new players freeze on the pause menu for twenty minutes. This guide is the short list of sliders that change hits. Cosmetic sliders can wait. The embedded Chaotix video in the middle of this page is still the best visual tour; names move between patches, but the groups stay.

Use controls for the bind table and keybinds for extra-key rows. Modifiers as a playstyle sit on modifiers.

Gameplay — the accuracy cluster

Strumlines. Lane position, downscroll versus upscroll, opponent strums on/off. If notes hide under Roblox’s top bar, this is the fix, not a new executor.

Note speed. Lower until you can read jumps. Speed is not a skill tax in your first week. Shop unlocks care about accuracy at 1x song rate, not about how fast the arrows fly visually.

Miscellaneous gameplay. Ghost tapping, hold covers, and related comfort toggles. Ghost tap off if you mash; on if your style already depends on it from Psych.

Preferences — the look of a hit

Strums and notes. Noteskin is equipped in the shop; these sliders tweak scale and visibility. Classic Resurrections added note recoloring (hue shift). It will not recolor monochrome skins. See shop unlocks.

Notesplashes. Pretty, expensive. Turn down on a low-end PC before you blame Eye of Corruption for FPS.

Camera movement. Fun in a showcase. Off when you are hunting a FC. The camera is not a judgement window.

HUD elements. Score, combo, ratings, time bar. If you hide too much, you will not notice a 68% farm that will never toast. Keep accuracy visible while you still need how rewards work.

Sounds, ratings, judgements, icons

Hitsounds are a timing tool. Miss sounds are feedback. Ratings and judgement sprites are shop-adjacent cosmetics; Chaotix even published templates. Icon packs are equipped here after you unlock them — or after custom icons if you have 50 unique FCs.

Some Ratings category options were removed ahead of later patches. If a YouTube chapter points at a missing slider, the video is old, not your client.

Accessibility (read this)

The Roblox page warns about flashing lights, screen shakes, and jumpscares. Those are not jokes. Horror tabs and some event animations will strobe. Accessibility is where you disable flashes, reduce shake, and keep the game playable. Do this before you open Mario’s Madness Demise at 1 a.m.

Bots and extras

Official bot settings let you pick a costume or saved dummy instead of a random noob. That is the supported way to have an opponent in solo. Chaotix also covers a duo animation bot and extra visual bots. Use those before autoplay scripts.

Optimizations / advanced extras. Particle caps, visualizer, background complexity. Drop these if the island plus a heavy modchart turns into a slideshow.

Bloxstrap. Not a PAFN menu. It is a Roblox launcher with FPS and fast flags. Chaotix includes a chapter because rhythm games like high FPS. It is not an exploit. Do not confuse it with the scripts hub.

Modifiers in the options tree

Fade In, Fade Out, Inverse Notes, Random Note Scale, Randomize Chart, Random Scroll Invert, and friends live here as well as on the song setup. Badge combos (Where’d They Go?, Randomizer) need specific stacks — modifiers. Do not enable them by accident on a shop farm; a randomized chart may still count if you hit 70%, but you will not enjoy the attempt.

A sane default profile

1. Downscroll or upscroll = whatever you use on PC FNF.
2. Note speed readable on Easy.
3. Hitsounds on, quiet.
4. Flashes down.
5. Splashes and camera movement off until the PC is bored.
6. Accuracy HUD on.
7. 4K binds saved.

Then go play. Settings are not a substitute for How to Play or accuracy and FC. If a patch shuffles the menu, check updates — Classic Resurrections already redesigned settings, shop, and song select once.
